Innovating for Success in the 21st Century
Google Docs can be used for so many great things in classrooms, offices and any place where people work together including the virtual space created by Web 2.0 tools and applications. What I find especially fascinating is the fact that Google Docs has a potential for enhancing collaboration in our classrooms. Even the simplest research activity such as the one you can see here, planned by a couple of our teachers, can be enriched by the fact that students can see the entire project unfold in front of their eyes. How else can you contribute the information you are collecting while simultaneously watching what others are contributing to the same document in real time? Talking about social knowledge growing right in front of your eyes...This lesson will be taught next Thursday so if you want to see our young researcher's finding, click on the links below that day around 10-11am and respond to this post with any comments you might have. I am sure the teachers and students will appreciate sharing their work with the whole world. This lesson will be taking place during an Innovation Field Trip for which, if you work for the NYCDOE you can register using Protraxx.
